Happy Spring! (& Easter a little late)

It has been a long time since my last post! We missed the month of March, which was a great month. We had a visit from Grandpa & Grandma Green and had such a fun time!

It has been beautiful weather again and we have been enjoying the parks and the back yard again. Bella would like to live in the back yard if we would let her!

I have been very frustrated with my camera, so have not been taking very many pictures but I borrowed my dad's camera this weekend, so here are some updated pics.

Kuiper's House

Since moving to Omaha, we have spent MANY of our weekends visiting grandpa & grandma Kuiper's house in Sioux Falls. The kids love to go to gramma's house. I don't know why...they get treats galore and constant attention...what kid wants that?

Reading is a favorite whether we are at home or in Sioux Falls. There could be pictures of Grandpa & Grandma reading too, but here are a couple with daddy and Paige.

Bella likes to put on singing and dancing shows. Here is one on the counter, but don't worry, there are 3 attentitive adults ready if she takes a step too close to the edge.

Snow & More Bella Birthday

We enjoyed another snow fall over the weekend and snow that was packable enough to play in. After Izaac & I built a snow man, Casey and Izaac had a fun snow ball fight.

These pictures are of Bella's birthday party at Grandpa & Grandma Kuiper's house. Notice Bella in the background of this picture...very excited!

Thought for the day:) Izaac has been really into games lately...the Wii, Monopoly, dominoes, Uno, etc. He is very concerned about the score and who is winning. Sometimes I just think he doesn't even enjoy the game because he is so worried about points. Last night when we were bowling on the Wii, he was commenting on who was winning and I just thought to myself, "I wish he could live in a world where there are no points." Then I thought, that must be exactly what God was thinking when he sent Jesus to earth. No keeping score, no wondering who is ahead, we just get to live and enjoy our lives...what a blessing!

Bella is 2!!!

I can't believe our baby is 2 already! Bella had a great birthday on Wednesday. We started out our day checking our e-mail as usual.

Bellevue has this great early childhood development center, which is basically two big rooms filled with toys and books and craft making supplies. Bella just loves it there. So she and I went there in the morning. She made a card (for Paige),

played some toys,

and during music time the teachers gave her a birthday crown and all of the kids sang to her.

She also got to pick her favorite song, which is the "monkey song".

Then after nap we picked up Izaac from school and went to Burger King for some kid's meals and ice cream. (Not a great picture, but the best I could do through the netting of the playstructure).

We came home and opened a few presents, tried to take a picture but the kids wanted to be goofy instead, and Izaac was off to Awana.... a very fun day!

Nothing Much

I know my posts are usually FULL of interesting information and humor, BUT today I don't have much to write about, so sorry to disappoint, but I just thought I would post a few pictures anyway. The kids and I did go to the Omaha Children's Museum this morning, but of course I didn't bring my camera, so no pictures of that, but it was very fun anyway.
This picture is of the kids dancing together. Casey told me since the camera was still shots it wouldn't look that cool and he was right--the picture doesn't capture the cute things they were doing, but oh well.

We have been enjoying our Wii and Wii Fit that we got from Grandpa & Grandma Green so much! Here is a shot of Izaac golfing.

Bella doesn't do the Wii yet, but she loves hanging out with us in the basement and building block towers and "riding" her princess scooter that our neighbors gave her.

Snow Days

I've officially decided that 2 snow days in a row is fun, but 3 is a little too many. Izaac didn't have school Wednesday or Thursday this week and he and Bella had so much fun playing with their new Christmas presents and were just being so sweet and silly together. Today is day 3 of snow days and the kids have been pretty much annoying each other all morning....and me :) Oh well, I'll just try to remember the fun they had the last two days.

This picture of our house was actually after the first snow storm we had, so now we have even more, but it is way too cold for me to go out and take a picture, so just imagine another foot on top of this. We actually can't see any of the black rails that go up the stairs anymore.

Weekend Away

Izaac & Bella were invited to my parents this past weekend. I don't know all of details of what they did, but it looks like they had fun :)
Casey and I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend of going out with friends and being lazy--just what we needed!

Halloween Weekend

Here is our little ladybug and our scary pirate. Izaac had decided on the pirate costume about a week before Halloween, but three days before, he completed the costume by knocking out one of his very slightly loose front teeth at school. Bella also had a costume change, like girls should, and wore a princess dress trick-or-treating to her aunt and uncles' houses.

This weekend we also had 2 of our new couple friends from Creighton come with us to my parents' for the weekend--Dave & Dahlia and Dan & Chealse. We had so much fun! It was a little cold outside, but we still had some good long walks and some time at my parent's land and just some nice relaxing. We are so thankful for our new friendships.

Changing Seasons

We have been really enjoying the last few weeks. Izaac's birthday was great, we had a really fun visit with Grandpa & Grandma Green & Uncle Cass (which I had great intentions of taking many pictures of and doing a blog on, but of course didn't), and a wonderful trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend and quite a bit of "Daddy Time".

The pumpkin patch was loads of fun that you can only experience in the Midwest.

There was also a corn maze, pumpkin cannon, lots of animals to feed and pet, haunted houses and the hayride to the pumpkin patch. We had a really great morning there hanging out as a family and with our friends.

I feel like the last few weeks we have gone from swimsuits to winter coats and hats overnight and when I went to look at the pictures I have on my camera, I realized I was right! So here are the pictures of the dramatic change in seasons.

The day before it snowed, I started thinking about the possiblity and bought a couple of shovels. It turned out that Izaac's small shovel was a great sled to go down our hill in our back yard, since I hadn't thought of a real sled...I'm sure we'll have another opportunity to use a real sled!

Birthday Party

Our little boy turns 6 tomorrow! I can't believe it. He is such a sweet, big boy and we are so blessed to have him as our son.

When we found out we were moving to Omaha last January, Izaac started planning his 6th birthday party at Grandpa Kuiper's land. The weather was iffy all week, but we were blessed with a cool, rain free day last Sunday and we got to have Izaac's party at the land with lots of my relatives and complete with hotdogs, smores, cake, games, a hike, 4 wheeling and a pinata. It was so much fun! Happy Birthday, Buddy!

The Weekend

Casey has been working really hard and doing really well in his classes. He has another big test tomorrow in Anatomy, so hopefully that will be a good score too. We do get to see him from time to time. This morning after church we went to a little lake with a trail and went for the 3 mile walk around it. Izaac biked and Bella rode in the stroller and we stopped half way around for a picnic snack. Very fun!

Yesterday, we went on a "hike" with Izaac's Awana class. It was actually at the same lake we walked around today, but we didn't go all the way around. Izaac is doing such a good job at Awana and learning about 3 new verses each week.

Then yesterday afternoon, the kids and I went over to our friend, Dahlia's house and baked cookies with her and Chealse, whose husbands go to school with Casey. The cookies were delicious and I have eaten way too many!

Ok, this is not the most interesting blog update, but I have 10 minutes and a few pictures, so why not, right? Bella has been LOVING Hide and Seek lately. She is actually very good and hides somewhere new almost every time. Here are a couple of shots of her hiding under her bed and under the dining room table.
Izaac also learned to tie his shoes a couple of weeks ago. Here is a picture of his first tied shoe :)

Zoo Trip

I just realized that although we did see a lot of real animals at the zoo, I only took pictures of the kids on statues of animals. Oh well, you didn't really want to see the zoo animals anyway, right?

A Few Pictures

I miss blogging! We are doing great in our new home in Omaha. Casey is very busy studying, but he is doing well and enjoying it so far. Here are a few pictures to get started again.

Bella is getting to be such a big girl.

Daddy took some time off from studying today to go to the air show with us at Offutt Air Force base, which is about 2 miles from our house. We saw some really cool planes.

Bella was more interested in the babies that we passed by.

Aunt Paige and Grandma came to visit us on Thursday. We spent the day walking, shopping, going to a little learning center near our house and key hunting:). Here are a couple of pictures of Izaac pretending to be a bunny rabbit.

New House

We bought a new house in Bellevue, Nebraska today! It is a little more south than we planned, but it will still be a nice commute for Casey and we just love this cute neighborhood and we can see the green for hole #6 in our back yard. This makes our upcoming move seem so much more real...which is exciting and scary at the same time.

Ok, first I was having a hard time remembering to take pictures and now I am a little addicted and I have A LOT to put on this post, so it is going to be a long one. We are getting started with packing, but still have a ways to go. I can't believe we will be out of our house in just over a week! This will show you a little of what we've been keeping busy with. Bella's First Ponytail

We got some new hair accessories from a friend a couple of days ago and were trying them on. Here's a couple pictures of Bella with her first pigtail and a cute little barrette. She didn't like that as well... Also a picture of Bella and her cousin Keenan getting into the shred bin :) I am not sure if you can see if really well in the picture, but she even has pieces of shredded paper in her hair. I think she likes that accessory best!

Bella's Walking

Here is our little person walking down the hallway! She just stood up and started walking last week Sunday and is getting better and better every day. Her big brother is very impressed and proud of her new skill...and so is she :)

Our House Sold!

Well, after being on the market less than 48 hours, we received a great offer on our house and accepted it today! Of course, there are lots of more hoops to jump through, but at this point everything looks like it is in good order. We are SO THANKFUL for this, especially since the market is not exactly great right now.
Also, I can't find my camera...with all of the cleaning to get the house ready for showings I must have put it somewhere that made sense at the time. Hopefully it will show up soon. I am sure it would be more fun to see pictures of the kids than of the house!

Visit with Paige (& More)

I am just not good at updating as often as I should, but at least I am trying, right? :) We just had a wonderful few days with Paige here for a visit and I managed to not get a single picture of her with the kids! We did do a lot of fun things and went for lots of walks and had lots of Starbucks, which is pretty much all we need for a good time together. I do have some other pictures to update with though, so here they are:

Bella had her 1 year check up last week and weighed in at 16 lb, 6 oz. Not quite on the chart, but the Dr is not at all worried about her growth and she is just such a healthy happy little girl and growing at her own pace!

We got to go to a super fun Star Wars birthday party of our friends Christian and Landon. The kids could even bring their light sabers and battle with them! There was also a ball pit that both of the kids enjoyed.

Izaac's preschool had a field trip to OMSI, a science museum. We had a great time and Izaac got to pet a real walking stick bug.

We have also been spending as much time as possible with our friends. Here is a picture of Izaac with Hannah & Luke (aka Darth Mal, Princess Lea, & Batman) today.

Bella's 1!!!

I can't believe our little baby is one already. I got an e-mail today that said a 1 year old can be called a toddler, but I am just not there yet, so she is still a baby in my book. She is not walking yet, but she is getting very close. She says mama, dada, baba (brother), oof (woof), kkkee (kitty), up, and hi. She also signs more, please, and all done. What a big girl. She is such a joy and we are so thankful for her little precious life.

Packing, Organizing, Packing

Well, we are busy getting our house ready to sell. Yeah! We are trying to get stuff out and rearranged. I think I will love the improved, organized house. My mom is coming on Sunday to help us paint and clean and organize more. We can't wait for her to get here! Bella enjoys unpacking more than packing. Here are are couple of pictures of her and a picture of Izaac's big owie on his chin. He took a fall while sliding on the hardwood floors with his good friend Michael. He had a few loose teeth, but it feeling better now.

Starting Out
